Yoga
Yoga is an ancient Indian method of disciplining our mind and body. Yoga is more
than mastering postures and increasing flexibility and strength. The traditional
purpose of Yoga is to bring about a profound transformation in a person. Our children
live in a hurry-up world of busy parents, school pressures, lessons, video games,
and competitive sports. These pressures have a deep effect on the lives of children.
The Yoga class at The Blake School was started to address these hidden pressures
and help the children develop self esteem and body awareness with a non competitive
physical activity. Children derive enormous benefits from Yoga. Physically, it helps
them gain coordination, flexibility and strength. In addition, Yoga helps their
concentration and their sense of calmness and relaxation improves.
The Yoga class meets twice weekly for 45minutes, after school. Please come join
us as we pursue to awaken the marvelous inner light in all of us.
