Science Lab At The Blake School

Science labs are offered to kindergarten through eighth grade once a week. In the lower grades, lab encompasses chemistry and the biological sciences. Each lab begins with an objective, hypothesis and a conclusion. Students are encouraged to explore, observe and record basic data.

Middle school science lab is designed to expand the student’s scientific competencies and to emphasize a much more in-depth approach to the physical, biological sciences together with chemistry. The students are required to submit a lab report on a weekly basis which includes a through explanation of the purpose, hypothesis, observation and conclusion of the topic studied. Microscopic analysis, laboratory techniques and applications are also taught at this level.
